Left over paint from color mixing projects.. plus some little notes..
More of the left over failed inchie project, the blue dotty one was a paper backed inchie which has escaped and was living under a pile of books… the button was another escapee heading for the spare room door…
Green scrap linen coil (which also has the painted excess cheese cloth from the bg.. ) was coiled up with embroidery thread and has some beads and a peyete beaded leaf… The coil was a “gosh you are daft at times” moment for me.. As I posted earlier I got the two new books Three Dimensional Embroidery and Creative Recycling in Embroidery both of which I think are things I knew to an extent but never really had a clear idea about.. Such as using all those little strip scraps instead of throwing them out.. I had tried a few times to make coils but the Three Dimensional Embroidery book really made it clear how to do it with options and lots of examples of similar work done with other materials/purpose.. 😀 I felt rather silly when I realised how simple it was to make the coils and have been experimention with some recycled pants which I had torn into strips last week! It is a really fun way to use up scraps and can already see my pile of scraps thankfully shrinking.. 😀
