So I haven’t posted much lately.. That doesn’t mean I haven’t been doing anything.. Alot of the time I get to the point as I am sure others do where I really have thing constructive to say. Short of working on some other projects which dates have been pushed back for though they are slowly getting done.. Here are some things from the past week..
Fabric Can – this will be part of a guide in a PDF zine I am putting together (one of those pushed back projects)
These little charms are made from old cosmetic sections, painted, layered with paper, stars and other bits, if you want one (not the middle though) let me know..
Painted plywood panel, this will be up in etsy when it is completed and re photograped..
Coiled plant, misc scraps from around my desk, I love the coiling technique!
The doll body for this piece was purchased from Joggles.com, so that is not mine.. The face and hair and clothes however are…
This small scene will hopefully be creepy when it is completed.. The tree is made from 3 bamboo skewers wraped with craft wire and florist wire, which was then covered in thread which I had sitting around, coated with pva glue to seal it then gesso so that it will hold the paint, the body is a set of wire armature legs which had been sitting around on my desk since I made Mother winter and also a peg spring, pingpong ball, with a hole cut in for a small drilled dowel piece with a wood bead on top, wire goes from the legs and out the head to hold it together and wire arms were inserted.. this character will be painted and cloth clothed when done.. The background is misc matboard and book binding board which has been hot glued together and coated in gesso.
I have struggled with how to -present- pieces, I have seen alot of people using plaques to create a base for thier works, while they look nice and uniform I did not feel that it suited some of the items I am working on. So these balsa, mdf, plywood and cardboard pieces are my solution, I think I will at some point in the near future will experiment with using the dremel to create decorative stands and bases for items to the style of the piece.. I could also use my carving tools to do the same.
This is a head I have had from a while ago which I recently recoated in gesso and painted, I especially love the eyes, my partner thinks that it looks like the old dr who.. I am not really sure who he is but I get the feeling he will be great to work on further!
I posted an image of Nyette – The Huntress the other week, I decided to start on her soon after only to decide when I got to this point that I wanted her to be alot taller as it would give me more options when creating her clothes, I want them to be detailed and hold alot of information in the way they look and her posture and dont feel that this size will give me those options.. I have no idea who to make from this piece now.. the smaller form is for another turtle which I will most likely sell… He is on hold while I decide which one he is.. I am leaning towards a captain of some sort… rallying his troops to war with the evil penguin hordes, which have stolen their sacred bunny heart from the cave of everlasting.. ( thier god is actually CONTAINED within this heart until awoken.. ) 🙂
These are tradeable, just drop me a line/comment if you want one.
This is a new cover for a book which I am slowly putting together as inspiration comes..
And another book which has some scrap paint panels evenlopes and so on (some not pictured) this one like the fabric covered one just mentioned will be up for sale when they are done.
Well, There you have it.. I am still doing things! I hope you all have a great Friday!
