Cozzy Approves! (cozzy = Costello, I did have two.. Named Abbott and Costello after the comedians.. they made me laugh when I thought that would be impossible..)
This was a project in underpainting.. done from a magazine picture.. some parts are not as I would have liked but overall I paint better than I had expected.. it is acrylic on primed cartridge.. The underpainting was done in pthalo blue and titanium white..
Now the following is one of a box of books which I have set myself the task of remaking them.. These are up for trade or sale and if you are interested in one let me know which one (maybe add a link so I know for sure and we will work something out.. I would prefer to trade them for scraps of fabrics I don’t have or trims… I have little of those.. Anyway here is this one..
I remare the embroidery to look more bird like.. I know alot more about cross stitch than when the original one was done… I then attached that to a scrap piece of blue and white floral… Which was then stitched onto a piece of stripey blue fabric scrap and was ironed to a piece of hard interfacing and the button was attached followed by the underside was a layer of bondweb and some acrylic stained gauze/cheese cloth.. The piece was then sewn in coptic style to the first segment then the following 5 with robin blue waxed linen thread.. (the same as the original… ) Then I attached a left over piece of linen thread to close the piece… There are also 2 bookmarks with a rouge bead from my desk and a very small washer.. 🙂 It looks so much better.. The paper inside is standard printing paper..
