So I have been thinking about everything.. What this time of year means to me and so on. My family is rather small these days, for the most part it is my sister and I and her kids and partner, so even though I do not really celebrate xmas I have a pile of stuff to take to my sisters, wraped simply and either hand made or second hand. I refuse to go and fight the masses this time of the year and feel that this cheapens everything I hold dear. However this year this is the first time I have had time to go up to my sisters as she lives 4 hrs away. So, whats in the box? My old computer which is much better than what they currently have, second hand books for my sister (which she can trade in to get store credit where I got them from and get another book when shes done if she wants. Painted frame from ikea for my Aunt, tree quilt for my grandma (no pic sorry I will try get one when she opens it) a box of art and craft stuff for my niece and nephew (clay, pipe cleaners, balloons, match sticks, modelling tools… etc.. ) starwars book which was unopened from an opshop.. includes a limited edition poster… not bad for $3 😛 games for the ps2 for my brother in law and then there is my sister and nephews birthday presents.. for my nephew he gets the turtle which lights up.. I will be sure to get a picture of that before I leave thier place.. and my sister..s ome craft supplies including sculpey and another book in the series she said she wanted to read.. 😀 My partner gets nothing because I accept the fact that he really doesn’t like xmas. I don’t either.. the commercialism.. the masses… If you get offended by this post then I am sorry, but perhaps you should take a look from other peoples point of view this year. There are just as many people who do not celebrate this ‘holiday’. Sure I am giving presents but these are ones ove been making and hoarding for when I see them next. Which hasn’t been until now.. 🙂 Enough explaining myself. I just hope the people that read this are open enough to see where I am coming from.
So the rest of this post is to state that I am going to disconnect for a few days, were off to my sisters today and then down to my partners for a few days after spending a day back home. Then we are heading to a NY bbq at a friends. I have projects in the works and will aim to not post until 2008, 2007 has been a good year and I thank you ALL for droping by leaving the comments. I feel that the reason I started this blog has been carried through the year and is becoming more of an important part of my world. You are all very supportive and kind with your words. So whatever you decide to do this ‘holiday’ I hope you all stay safe, happy and I shall look forward to wowing you in the next year.. 😛 Well at least to wow myself. Having looked back through my posts from this year I am suprised how much I got done. Compared with how much I thought I got done. In the new year I will have some old books I made when I was starting to make them up for grabs… so be sure to check back!
Well! Take care all and see you in 2008!
