More to come as it progresses (sorry about the not so great pics)
First 2 layers of mache done, only doing thin layers around the main body as most of that if not all except the hands will be covered with clothing which she will be wearing.. the hands I am not sure if I will use clay over tinfoil over the pipcleaners or source some old gloves from an op shop.. the feet come from a cut up old plastic untensil holder (those ones that you have in the kitchen drawers) The arms are made from 16 gauge craft wire and the legs are an old coat hanger that got in my way this morning.. Other than that she is made up of various cardboard tubing and some old boxes I was going to throw out after moving things around the other day (still haven’t finnished that yet) Basically the body is to get the stance seen in the drawing on the previous post.. I went with both hands on the cane for stability and ended up using a piece of dowel in the holes of my book press (very simple one) to hold her in position correctly as she was leaning too far forward. I will be adding cardboard features to her head and making her shoes over the plastic in paper clay..
So fun! This is the largest thing I can remember making!
