So I had started a post the other day stating that I would be going in for surgery on Monday but I didn’t end up finnishing the post as I was tired and went to bed midway through it. The surgery went off without a hitch and thankfully there was no bad reactions to the anesthesia, which is great as the last time I had to go under I ended up puking for hours and that just wasn’t nice, this time there was none of that. I was actually almost the same as when I went in, just a little tired and uncomfortable when it came to laying down. So I currently have a ‘drain’ which comes out tmrw afternoon, which is a tad uncomfortable not to mention I keep worrying that something will come undone! I actually walked to the mail box and back and then proceeded to sleep for hours. It was a suprisingly tiring walk, the whole minute or so that it took 😛 Thanks to those of you who mailed me good thoughts! Muchly appreciated!
On more interesting notes I have a friend who has printed up some of my character onto some scrap canvas when he was printing off some other stuff that I will be using to cover books, the prints are done with high quality inks (I will get specifics soon) and on the same quality canvas. There will be 3 of the first books which are going to be coptic bound and filled with 110gsm paper, 2 of which will be up for sale when they are completed. As they are canvas you can and I hope you will paint over them and make them your own. Depending on how these sell I will be making more like this or I may move onto getting prints of my completed images done for sale. (and I will be getting some a3 posters done up as well! Those are suprises though!)
And mostly I have been working on course stuff, painting pieces of paper, black still lifes, white still lives, tonal collages of rooms looking into other rooms… And this gem, an aerial view/map. I chose the amazon river there was a picture in a mythology book in the house which I loved the curves and lines for, not to mention that 70% of life is water and rivers flow through the world like life flows through us.. As it is ment to be an interpretation of our reference piece as well as along the theme of time and space as we interpret that, we are also to use emblishment but it is to have purpose. So I am adding pieces to it, the leave is off some candles I got for my birthday, I have various shells and other pie ces for memories, and will pbe stitching some in as well as leaving some holes free for more memories /thoughts. I also have coins and pins from travels to the US and other places. I think in the end it will really come together and fill the ideas I had for it.
