I am 26.. though I always wonder if it goes from the actual time you were born or the whole day.. if its from the time I am still 25.. Today is also the 60th aniversary of roswell.. go you little grey men!
So I picked up the new Quilting Arts magazine today after avoiding buying it.. It isn’t that it is a bad magazine, its just that it is 15.50 a piece. Which is fine but I mostly pick my magazines up second hand from op shops of librarys, they may be a little out of date but it saves me alot of cash in the long run (as does buying most of my fabrics/yarns there)..
So I am into the wine and just wanted to update quickly..
Testing some stain/heat settings with acrylic paints.. (I also picked up some textile medium which I am yet to test)
Course project… the theme is time and space I went with the influence of time as resembled by tree rings.. the more complicated time consuming parts have more rings/layers… it also contains space as a solid piece.. as well as being moments in time and space..
scrap from the hording.. I will post pics of hording soon…
In Addition (added hours later)
I remember when I was living in Northam, WA.. I would have been about 7 years old and Dr Who was on after 8pm.. Often my Grandma would be baby sitting whilst my mum was at work, she was a single parent who seemed to go to the ends of the world to do what needed to be done little did I realise it at the time. I would sneak out of my bed room which was slightly across from the front lounge room to hide behind the couch and lay under it and watch dr who while my grandma was watching it. Though after being caught a few times they figured it was just easier to leave me up until it was over. And yes I after a few weeks was too tired to stay up and watch it!
So onto what has sparked this memory, I have been watching the new Dr Who with David Tennant who I remember seeing in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I think he is a fantastic actor and has such a vibrant personality which showed through on his Live Earth performance recently aired online. Is it wrong that I wish he had done more film work to be watched? or that there were more dr who? Another show I am really enjoying is Torchwood though it is lacking in the interest and quality that Dr Who shows I am still enjoying it, I think though I would prefer these as books to acted pieces as they are not as well done as Jericho, Dr Who and BSG, Rome.
